The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a partial victory to President Trump that allows the deportation of alleged Venezuelan gang members. At issue in the case Alien Enemies Act, a controversial law that allows for the detention and deportation of foreign nationals from countries actively invading the United States. Scammers are apparently impersonating road toll collection services in text message scam. According to the Better Business Bureau serving Connecticut, these fraudsters may even use AI technology to create more convincing fake websites and messages. Kristen Johnson of the BBB gave us tips to recognize the scam and avoid getting duped.

Earlier this month, Eversource Energy warned Connecticut officials that it needs to raise over three-billion-dollars in new revenue from ratepayers in the coming years. Eversource indicated that customers will begin feeling the pain in 2027 and will likely involve a big increase in delivery charges on power bills. We asked Senator Ryan Fazio, ranking senator on the Energy and Technology Committee, about solutions to lower energy costs, including eliminating the public benefits section of bills.
