WICC Pet of The Week

WICC Pet of The Week

Today we are happy to introduce pet of the week Willow, an 18 month old guinea pig who is curious and social. She is bonded with her sister Caramel an together they sing the song of the lettuce lovers at every sound even faintly resembling the opening of the refrigerator door or the crinkle of a salad bag. Guinea pigs can make great pets for people who love to watch cute noses and have something warm to hold but who might not have the time or space for a larger pet like a cat or a rabbit.

To learn more about Willow and Caramel or about how to be the best guardian to a guinea pig, please give the Westport branch a call or visit online at cthumane.org.

Young Vaccinated People with Heart Conditions

Young Vaccinated People with Heart Conditions

This week, 18 young people in Connecticut entered state hospitals for heart issues. The only common denominator news outlets have highlighted is the fact that all of these patients got the pfizer covid vaccine. Dr. Browne says the vaccine isn’t necessarily causing these heart problems. In fact, he brought light to a huge issue we see every year during this time that NO news outlets really touch on.

WICC Pet of The Week

WICC Pet of The Week

Over the past year, there are fewer and fewer dogs coming in to the shelter. As a result, several of our dog walking volunteers have transitioned to being cat cuddlers, and they give a whole new insight into our feline friends. Today we introducing Mila—a cat so cuddly that the dog loving volunteers are head over heels in love with her. She will come to the door when you enter, curl up in your lap, and accept all the hugs. Mila is five years old and has excellent house manners. She is moderate energy but still likes to have a little play time each day (no surprise here—she likes to chase balls, though she rarely brings them back). Like many dogs, she would prefer to live without another cat in the home, thank you very much. To meet this adorable, green eyed tabby, please apply online by going to cthumane.org and clicking on the adopt tab.
