CT Humane Society Pet of the Week

CT Humane Society Pet of the Week

Meet Jekyll ( black/white with a patch of brown) and Hyde (brown with a patch of black and white) , two of the newest Guinea pigs! These 2 boy are 4 months old! They came to us when their family could no longer give them the time that they needed. They are sweet boys and generally good to handle. Like all Guinea Pigs they need regular social interactions with their humans to maintain their social skills.  Owning 2 pigs is great because while you are out they have a buddy to be with but you also need a large cage so they have enough space. If there is not enough space they can squabble, our adoption counselors will give you cage dimensions when you speak to them about any of our available pigs.  We have not seen them with smaller children but during your appointment, if there are small children in the home we would be happy to do an interaction to see how everyone does with each other.  For more info on Jekyll and Hyde or any of the available pets please visit us at CT humane.org/adopt

CT Humane Society Pet of the Week

Meet Skye a 9 Month old Terrier, Jack Russell / Australian Cattle Dog! She is a fun but high energy dog! We mean HIGH. We are working on some of her undesirable behaviors like pulling on the leash and jumping up on people but once she has had her training session, she is a cuddler and will sit by you and chew her toys. To Skye though, first is first and it is training, exercise and then quiet time.  We recommend older kids, a fenced in yard is a bonus but she needs someone to be with her out there or she may get herself into trouble, so a family who has had active sport type dogs before.

If you’re interested in adopting Skye or any one of our great pets please visit CT humane.org/adopt
