CT Humane Society Pet of the Week

Today’s Pet of the Week is going to be Watson! He’s a 4-year-old orange cat.

~ I am a quiet and cuddly kitty. I would prefer a peaceful home.
~ I would love to live with another cat but would prefer a dog free home.
~ I am FIV positive so I need a home where all household cats are indoor only.
~ I have not had much experience with children but am willing to consider sharing my home with older kids (12+) who can be gentle and respectful of pets, pending meet and greet.
~ I have some special needs but still have lots of life to live and love to give. Please ask the adoption counselor to explain when you visit with me.

Farmers have cited a labor shortage, especially when it comes to young people in the profession, as a reason for the dwindling numbers. We asked the Department of Agriculture Commissioner, Bryan Hurlburt, about the findings. We also got a better idea of how important the farming industry is in our state and how “support local” is a huge solution to the problem.

Melissa in the Morning: Attacking Anti-Semitism at K-12 Campuses

Earlier this month, superintendents from across the country testified on antisemitism to Congress. With this testimony, the spotlight is now on what role, if any, superintendents play in addressing antisemitism in schools. Also, how can superintendents work with K-12 stakeholders to address antisemitism? We spoke with the Institute for Education Innovation (IEI) Founder and CEO, Doug Roberts, about the problem and possible solutions.
